Technical Skills Training

The technical skills training at the NECE utilizes equipment, trainers, animations and simulations to teach techniques and troubleshooting skills by creating workforce scenarios in a safe environment.  

Technical Skills Training Focus Areas

  • P&IDs print reading and Management of Change (MOC) concepts  
  • Gas processing plant operations
  • Vapor recovery units (VRUs)
  • Residual knockouts and flare systems
  • LACT units and pigging operations
  • Well site operations
  • Artificial lift systems
  • Mechanical drive systems gears belts chains and shaft alignment  
  • Industrial rigging and equipment installation
  • Hydraulic systems and hydraulic troubleshooting
  • Motor controls AC motors and variable frequency drives (VFDs)
  • PLC Fundamentals and Advanced PLC programming
  • Climb rescue and industrial safety training
  • Safety practices including LOTO JSA and safe work procedures
